Step 3

• Follow the red lines for this segment.  If you do not have a color monitor, print a copy of this page and number each step yourself. 

• On the left side of your stitching come up one fabric thread under the black stitch.

1. go over the green stitch,

2. under the blue stitch,

3. under black stitch (The red stitch isn't there yet.)

4. over the right leg of the Cross Stitch,

5. and under the left leg of the Cross Stitch.

6. over the black stitch,

7. under the long red stitch,

8. over the blue stitch,

9. under the next stitch (green or black)

10. At the intersection in the middle where another cross stitch had formed repeat steps 1 through 9,  but before you go on please note that the top large X is green instead of black and the bottom large X is black. ©2001 Linda Fontenot,  www.AmericanFolkArts.com
