Chevron Stitch

To do this stitch:

• come up at 1 and go down at 2 and leave a loop as shown below,

• come up at 3 and tighten the loop,                              

• then go down at 4,      

• come up at 5 and go down at 6 and leave a loop,      

• come up at 7 and tighten the loop,

• go over four fabric threads and up or down four fabric threads (whatever direction the stitch dictates) and start the process over at 1 where the arrow is located.

This stitch will form two rows of parallel back stitches on the back of your work. You need to start the stitch with an away knot of about four inches length, and then weave it into these little back stitches to hide the tail.

 A Little More

Please notice that I have shown these stitches compensated. That is what you do whenever you run out of room. You just finish the stitch as if a piece of paper was laid over the edge and all you saw was what was not covered by the paper.
