The Lazy Daisy

Each line in this graph represent a fabric thread.

This stitch can be done by forming the loop in an intersection  of the fabric threads.

At A in the diagram above come up with the threaded needle and go back down in the same spot and leave a loop that will cover an area over two fabric threads.

Tack the loop down by coming up at 1 and going over a fabric thread diagonally and then going down with the threaded needle at 2.The tacking stitch at 1 and 2 needs to use different spots in the fabric. If you use the same space for the tacking stitch it will cause the tacking stitch to disappear.

Sometimes you may want that tacking stitch to disappear, and the loop could be drawn tighter too. A diagonal tack that follows the same slant as all the other Cross Stitches will also appear to disappear. ©2004,Linda Fontenot, www.AmericanFolkArts.com
